About the Owners
Julie and Derek purchased the company from Robert Quinn (founder) in January 2018. Julie is a Veteran of the United States Air Force and is a graduate of University of South Dakota. She serves on the Construction Industry Center Board of Directors. Derek has over 17 years of experience in project estimating and is a graduate of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He is a Director on the Associated General Contractors of South Dakota- Highway- Heavy-Utilities Chapter Board of Directors.
Who We Are.
Quinn Construction was incorporated in 1992, concentrating on grading, rock excavation, demolition and underground utility projects. Representative of these projects are airport and highway construction, building demolition, underground utility installation, site work and infrastructure development.
A large percentage of work has been contracts with governmental agencies. Quinn has completed projects for the South Dakota Department of Transportation, the United States Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service, Department of Agriculture, Ellsworth Air Force Base and several South Dakota counties and municipalities.
Although the company has done a majority of its work for governmental agencies, private clients include banking companies, mining companies and land developers. The variety of projects completed by Quinn are quite varied. They range from the construction of wastewater treatment facilities to the infrastructure development for housing at Ellsworth Air Force Base to the site development for the Mount Rushmore interpretive center.
Quinn is prequalified by the South Dakota Department of Transportation and certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise.
